Accepting a gift of a P70 Videophone with Video Relay Service (VRS) from ZVRS/Purple Communications to assist with communications and facilitate American Sign Language interpretation services for a deaf employee.

WHEREAS, ZVRS aims to break down barriers and build bridges between both the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and Hearing communities and strives to support real connection and opportunity for all; and
WHEREAS, the P70 Videophone provided by ZVRS/Purple Communications allows for deaf individuals to communicate effectively with the hearing community over the phone; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all residents and employees; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the City of St Paul to accept the VIS compatible phone for business use by a deaf employee and thanks ZVRS/Purple Communications for its generous gift.
