Authorizing the Fire Department to apply for the 2018 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant in the amount of $21,000 from the State of Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for training for firefighters.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department would like to apply for the 2018 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant to provide training for firefighters; and

 

WHEREAS, the total grant amount provided by the State of Minnesota would be $21,000 for the training; and

 

WHEREAS, the grant requires a 20% in-kind match of $5,250 which would be met with salaries of the firefighters attending the training; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Fire Department to apply for the 2018 Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) grant.
