Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to use fund balance, built and unspent in 2011, to increase the 2012 Financing and Spending budgets in the Mardag Foundation and Saint Paul Foundation activities, by $9,000 and $9,500, respectively, to operate the Sprockets Out of School Time Network.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is receiving funding from both the Mardag Foundation and the Saint Paul Foundation to operate the Sprockets Out of School Time Network; and
WHEREAS, this funding is being received in both 2011 and 2012; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, Parks and Recreation received $9,000 from the Mardag Foundation and $9,500 from the Saint Paul Foundation, none of which was spent in 2011;
WHEREAS, all of the spending for this 2011-12 program will be incurred in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to increase the 2012 Financing and Spending budgets in these activities by carrying forward this funding received in 2011 through a use of fund balance; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $18,500 in excess of those estimated in the 2012 Grants and Aid Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $18,500 is available for appropriation in the 2012 Grant and Aid Budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
