Authorizing the Ward 2 office to spend no more than $750 to supply food and beverages for constituents attending four Neighborhood Meetings in Ward 2.

Body

WHEREAS, the Ward 2 Neighborhood Meetings are an opportunity for Ward 2 residents to share their concerns and learn about community projects; and

 

WHEREAS, the meetings will be held on February 13, February 27, March 12, and March 26 from 6-7:30 pm, during typical dinner hours; and

 

WHEREAS, the meeting was scheduled outside of typical working hours to accommodate community members; and

 

WHEREAS, Ward 2 would like to allow as many community members as possible to attend to ensure a meaningful dialogue, and recognizes providing food and refreshments during events encourages attendance by additional groups of people; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council finds that there is a public purpose for the expenditure of money for food and beverages for attendees of the Ward 2 Neighborhood Meetings for the above-stated reasons, and authorizes the Ward 2 office to spend up to $750 in total from their office budget for the purchase of food and refreshments for community members attending the meetings.
