Authorizing the City to renew its lease with Metropolitan State University for the Dayton's Bluff Library.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, on behalf of the Saint Paul Public Library Agency (“City”), and the State of Minnesota, by and through the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities on behalf of Metropolitan State University (“Metropolitan State"), (collectively, the "Parties”), have reached a mutual agreement for the City's rental of 6,664 square feet of space within Metropolitan State's campus at 700 East 7th Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota for the Dayton's Bluff Library; and
WHEREAS, a lease agreement between the Parties for the Dayton's Bluff Library has been in effect since 2004 and the Parties now agree to amendment #3 and renew said lease agreement for a new three-year extended term retroactively commencing on July 1, 2026 and terminating on June 30, 2029 ("Lease Amendment"); and
WHEREAS, the Parties have met and successfully negotiated terms, conditions and rental rates for Lease Amendment # 3; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the Lease
Amendment #3, attached hereto as Exhibit A.
