Approving and authorizing execution of a permit agreement between the City of Saint Paul and car2go N.A., LLC. allowing use of Public Right of Way for car sharing services.
Body
WHEREAS, The city controls parking within public rights of way located within the City of Saint Paul; and,
WHEREAS, car2go N.A., LLC. operates a free floating, point to point car sharing business in the City of Saint Paul; and,
WHEREAS, car2go N.A., LLC. desires to utilize public right of way to operate the stationing component of its car sharing business; and,
WHEREAS, the city desires to help facilitate car sharing by allowing use of the right of way, subject to formal provisions outlining the terms and conditions under which such use will be allowed; and,
WHEREAS, the city and car2go N.A., LLC. desire to enter into an Agreement to define the general terms and conditions in which car2go will be allowed to use the Public Right of Way;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mayor and proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to enter into a Permit Agreement, a copy of which is before the Council and is made a part hereof; and,
AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper city officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
