Pertaining to an Amendment No. 4 to Agreement with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s elevated water towers.


Body
WHEREAS, the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul (the “Board”) desires to obtain professional engineering services for the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #2 elevated water tower; and

WHEREAS, at its February 8, 2022 meeting, the Board approved Contract No. 3407 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Ferndale Street elevated water tower, which Agreement provided for the same scope of work to be provided for Highland #2 and Highland #3 upon mutual agreement; and

WHEREAS, at its July 11, 2023 meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 3407 with SEH to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #3 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed of $84,200; and

WHEREAS, at its December 12, 2023, meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 2 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional engineering services during the reconditioning of the Board’s Highland #2 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed $96,700 and a Highland #3 rate adjustment cost not to exceed $2,838; and

WHEREAS, at its July 9, 2024, meeting, the Board approved an Amendment No. 3 with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (“SEH”) to provide professional structural engineering services, including design, inspection, and contract administration services for the steel rafters of the Highland #2 elevated water tower at a cost not to exceed $29,500; and

WHEREAS, during the design phase of Highland #3 it was decided to modify the scope from an exterior overcoat to full rehabilitation of the exterior. This was done to reduce the lifetime cost of the tank. Full rehabilitation will add three w...
