Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to request funds from the FY 2015 Mn/DOT Metro Municipal Agreement Program for various projects and making a commitment for the local share of funding if grants are awarded.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul wishes to reconstruct the intersection of Trunk Highway 61 and Burns Avenue, including geometric improvements for right turning traffic, traffic signal replacement, addition of audible push buttons, and sidewalk and trail improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul wishes to reconstruct the intersection of Trunk Highway 5 (East 7th Street) and County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 58 (Payne Avenue), including realignment of the intersection, reconstruction of the traffic signal, and the addition of audible push buttons; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul wishes to reconstruct Trunk Highway 952A (Robert Street) between East 9th Street and East 11th Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is requesting financial participation in the aforementioned projects from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) through the Municipal Agreement Program FY 2015; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned projects will be of mutual benefit to Mn/DOT, Ramsey County, and the City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul must commit to providing the local share of the costs if the aforementioned project is selected as part of the Municipal Agreement Program FY 2015; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, that the City of Saint Paul is hereby requesting funding from Mn/DOT through its Municipal Agreement Program FY 2015 to reconstruct the intersection and signal at Trunk Highway 61 and Burns Avenue, East 7th Street and Payne Avenue, and Reconstruct Robert Street from East 9th Street to East 11th Street; and be it further
