PUBLIC HEARING

 

5.                     Resolution giving preliminary approval to the proposed issuance of conduit revenue bonds for the Regions Hospital Project, 640 Jackson Street, under Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.152 through 469.1655; District 17, Ward 2

 

Dr. Bruce Corrie, HRA Executive Director, stated that this request is to finance the new birth center at Regions Hospital. This four-story building will be over 159,000 square feet and include 50 parking stalls. The building is designed for future growth and will be constructed with the capability to expand to 11 stories. The requested HRA Board action today is to hold a Public hearing and provide preliminary authorization to issue up to $50 million in conduit revenue bonds.

 

Commissioner Bostrom asked if there was any obligation to the City of Saint Paul as a result of this.

 

Dr. Corrie said these are conduit revenue bonds and have no obligation of the City.
