Appeal of Emmett Owens, Jr. to a Summary Abatement Order, Vehicle Abatement Order and Correction Notice at 233 BATES AVENUE.

 

Date/Time of 1st LH:  Tuesday, April 14, 2026, 11:00 a.m., Room 330 City Hall

Purpose of Appeal:  This is regarding 237 and 239 Bates.  I don't want my vehicles towed and the structures torn down.  I want to get a building permit and get the structures up to par the way they want it.  I am willing to buy a new tent to replace the old one and get the inspectors off my back for the last time.

WHEREAS, in the matter of the Appeal of Emmett Owens, Jr.to a Summary Abatement Order, Vehicle Abatement Order and Correction Notice at 233 Bates Avenue, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant;

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant to May 22, 2026 for all items in the 3 orders to come into compliance, noting it could be changed based on possible condemnation of the deck; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
