Authorizing the City to enter into an agreement with Indigo Design Company (IDC) for use of their DYNO Mapper standard license through dynomapper.com.
Body
WHEREAS, the Office of Technology and Communications (OTC) is partnering with departments to improve the information architecture of StPaul.gov to make it easier for constituents to find information on the website; and
WHEREAS, OTC has determined that various department business requirements make it desirable to use the DYNO Mapper tool in order to better understand department sitemaps and content on the website; and
WHEREAS, the DYNO Mapper standard license is required for the City to use the full variety of content planning and sitemap features to ensure that department website managers can plan for future content updates; and
WHEREAS, one of the terms is an indemnification clause which requires the City to “to hold harmless, indemnify and defend IDC along with its affiliates, agents, officers and employees against any third party claims arising either directly or indirectly from the use of DYNO Mapper, including any liability or expense arising from claims, losses, damages, suits, judgments, litigation costs and attorneys’ fees, of any kind.”; and
WHEREAS, the DYNO Mapper tool is a major component in the way OTC wishes to improve the experience for constituents on StPaul.gov making it easier website managers to streamline their content and for constituents to find what they are looking for on the website; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the promise of indemnification is appropriate to obtain the optimal sitemap and content planning tool for the City’s website; and now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Office of Technology and Communications is authorized to accept the Terms of Use for Indigo Design Company’s DYNO Mapper standard license.
