Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend the financing and spending plan in the amount of $125,000 and to enter into a grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council to accept fishing pier grant funds, which includes an indemnification clause.
Body
WHEREAS, RES 24-1834 authorized the Department of Parks and Recreation (“Department”) to apply for funds from the Metropolitan Council’s fishing pier construction grant program to construct a new fishing pier at Crosby Farm Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, the Department was awarded $125,000 for the project; and
WHEREAS, the Department wishes to enter into a grant agreement to accept said grant funds and establish a financing and spending plan for said grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in providing public park amenities that encourage outdoor recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $125,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2025 capital improvement budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $125,000 is available for appropriation in the 2025 capital improvement budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by Council, is hereby further amended as outlined in the attached Financial Analysis; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into an agreement with the Metropolitan Council for the aforementioned funding, which includes an indemnification clause.
