Purpose of Appeal:  1. 11/15/2024 Summary AbatementL The items have been removed. 2. 11/7/2024 Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice: The property has been undergoing significant work for several months by a professional contractor. The work had been delayed due to insurance issues. The condition of the property does not meet any of the factors of Category I and to the extent it does, we request a fee exemption under 43.04(1). Notice was not received for several days and previous requests were made to copy me on notices like this because Mr. Die is not proficient in English and I am his attorney.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Heather Mendiola, SMRLS (Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services), representing Kyaw Die, owner, to a Vacant Building Registration Renewal Notice and Summary Abatement Order at 729 HAWTHORNE AVENUE EAST, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council waive vacant building fee for 90 days to March 7, 2025; Now, Therefore, Be It

 

RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
