Title
Amending the financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $59,000 to utilize available CIB Contingency Funds for the 2018 Cherokee Regional Park Sidewalk Project.

Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has identified a need for pedestrian access along the north side of Annapolis Street in Cherokee Regional Park; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation identified this need in the approved master plan for Cherokee Regional Park; and

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is currently milling and overlaying Annapolis Street; and

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has committed to paying half the cost for the design and construction of the new 5’ concrete sidewalk with an estimated cost of $118,000; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation and Public Works agree it would be most economical to allow for construction of a 5’ wide concrete sidewalk along Annapolis Street in Cherokee Regional Park along with the roadway improvements; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will maintain the future sidewalk; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting use of $59,000 in available contingency funds to allow for inclusion of the sidewalk into project bid; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend the financing and spending budget for the Cherokee Regional Park Sidewalk project to allow for said construction; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for transfer of appropriation, funds of $59,000 in the 2018 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $59,000 is available for appropriation in the 2018 Cap...
