Approving the Mayor’s reappointments of James Thayer and Eva Wailes to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission.

WHEREAS, the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity (HREEO) Commission is responsible for monitoring and advising the department on promoting justice and equity and fosters hiring policies that maximize the diversity of the workforce of the city; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Legislative Code Section 183.19 (1) states that the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission consists of twenty-one (21) members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Council; and
WHEREAS, James Thayer and Eva Wailes have reapplied to serve on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Kaohly Her wishes to reappoint James Thayer and Eva Wailes to the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission for a three-year term ending August 31, 2029; and
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council approves the appointment of James Thayer and Eva Wailes to an additional three-year term on the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission ending August 31, 2029.
