Title

Authorizing the City to apply for sub-grant funds from the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) to install curbside charging through the RMI E-Mobility Accelerator program.

Body

WHEREAS, the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) received funding from General Motors (GM) intended to help cities advance electric mobility and charging solutions; and

 

WHEREAS, RMI used GM funds to run two E-Mobility Accelerator Cohorts, and the opportunity for participants in both to apply for a small pool of competitive funds to support ready-to-implement projects once initial cohort efforts concluded; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul participated in one cohort: Expanding Equitable Curbside and Pole-Mounted EV Charging; and

 

WHEREAS, at the recommendation of RMI, Saint Paul submitted a notice of interest in competitive funds for project implementation and based on experience and ability to implement was encouraged to apply; and

 

WHEREAS, there is not a local match requirement for the funds, the City’s subaward would be $50,000 provided in up-front payment with the requirement to complete spending and provide report of funds used; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes Public Works to apply for the competitive funds from the Rocky Mountain Institute’s E-Mobility Accelerator program.
