Establishing a financing and spending plan in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $482,510.25 to reflect funds received from Ramsey County for the Hidden Falls Drive Reconstruction project (and entering into a cooperative agreement).
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation submitted a project proposal to reconstruct Hidden Falls Drive to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in 2021; and
WHEREAS, the project was selected to receive funding of $482,510.25 from the State Park Road Account; and
WHEREAS, said funds were delivered to Ramsey County (“County”) for completion of the project; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to execute a cooperative agreement with the City of Saint Paul (“City”) to define project responsibilities and make project funding available to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said funds and amend the financing and spending plan for the Hidden Falls Drive project; and
WHEREAS, the required match for said funds is being provided by previously designated Parks and Trails Legacy funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that there is a public purpose in providing for the betterment of our public parks facilities and that acceptance of the grant funding will enable construction of an important amenity to proceed; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $482,510.25 in excess of those estimated in the 2024 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $482,510.25 is available for appropriation in the 2024 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2024 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby amended as attached; and, be it
