Authorizing the Police Department to purchase food, water, and soda for the Comprehensive Field Practicals and Academy Graduation for the 2013-2 Recruit Academy.

WHEREAS, the Training Unit of the Saint Paul Police Department, Recruit Academy 2013-2 is conducting the following: Comprehensive Field Practical's and the 2013-2 Recruit Academy Graduation; and
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Field Practicals will be held on the following dates. February 24th and 25th , 2014 at the Dakota County Technical College Driving Track, 1300 145th street East, Rosemount Minnesota, 55068 and March 4th , 7th, 17th, 2014 at the Minnesota State Fair grounds and other locations not yet determined but consistent with the purpose of this recruit academy. The 2013-2 Recruit Academy Graduation will be held on March 27th 2014 at a site to be determined in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, this public purpose to inform members of the public who will be assisting as civilian role players at the Comprehensive Field Practicals such as vehicle traffic stops, street level narcotics and various other police calls for service, and the 2013-2 Recruit Academy Graduation Night is to allow family members, members of the public, city administrators and the graduates to have refreshments in appreciation for their attendance to the graduation ceremony; and
THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2014 City Budget, the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $3000.00 to Sam's Club, 1850 Buerkle Rd., White Bear Lake, MN 55110, Little Oven, 1786 Minnehaha Ave E, St Paul, MN 55119 and Cub Foods, 1440 University Ave W St Paul, MN 55104 to cover expenses for food, water and soda for the above mentioned Saint Paul Police Department Recruit Academy Training.
