Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept an in-kind donation of conference and travel expenses, valued at $1,500, for attendance at the Reimagining the Civic Commons Studio, October 14-17, 2024.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is working towards equity in planning open space in our system; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul’s vision of building a city that works for all of us and the equity agenda includes placemaking and accessible parks and open spaces for all users; and
WHEREAS, Reimagining the Civic Commons is a national collaborative, action-oriented initiative, dedicated to demonstrating that transformative public spaces can connect people of all backgrounds, cultivate trust, and create more resilient communities; and
WHEREAS, the donation, if accepted, will allow the Department of Parks and Recreation to attend the Reimagining the Civic Commons Studio; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to accept the donation of conference and travel costs; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the donation of conference and travel costs, and thanks the Center for Transformative Urban Design and the Environmental Initiative for their generous gift.
