Staying enforcement of City Council Resolution RLH RR 12-36 adopted on July 18, 2012 which ordered the razing and removal of the structures at 779 CENTRAL AVENUE WEST within fifteen (15) days.

WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution RLH RR 12-36 adopted on July 18, 2012 which ordered the razing and removal of the structures at 779 CENTRAL AVENUE WEST within 15 days; and
WHEREAS, no owner or representative, or member of the community appeared and presented a plan to abate the nuisance condition; and
WHEREAS, and no one appeared at the Legislative Hearing, or subsequent City Council Public Hearing to testify in this matter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that 779 CENTRAL AVENUE WEST did constitute a nuisance per the Saint Paul Legislative Code, and the buildings on this property were considered nuisance buildings due to their condition; and
WHEREAS, since the time of the Council's hearing on July 18, 2012, it has come to light that this property holds some significance in the history of the neighborhood; and therefore, there is interest in the community to explore potential options for preserving all or part of this building's memory for the future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council herewith stays enforcement of Resolution RLH RR 12-36 , an Order to Remove 779 CENTRAL AVENUE WEST for a period of 90 days; and be it
RESOLVED, that if plans are not forthcoming to the Ward 1 office of the City Council by January 15, 2013; the City's Department of Safety and Inspection is authorized to proceed with the removal of the buildings at 779 CENTRAL AVENUE WEST, as prescribed in City Council Resolution RLH RR 12-36.
