Amending the 2023 spending budget in the Department of Public Works General Fund Traffic Signals and Street Lighting Maintenance accounting units.
Body
WHEREAS, the Traffic Signals accounting unit has need of a specialized vehicle upfit for their fiber-optic splicing van and has received a quote for that custom attachment; and
WHEREAS, the Street Lighting Maintenance accounting unit has no further plans for capital purchases in 2023 and would like the unspent capital budget in this accounting unit to be contributed to the purchasing efforts of this custom upfit, and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be functionally utilized in the ongoing critical repairs to damaged electrical wire conduits throughout the city of Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, because of the long lead-time pertaining to the equipment’s construction and delivery the procurement requires a purchase order in 2023, therefore via
ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Director of the Public Works Department to amend the 2023 budget in the General Fund Traffic Signals and Street Lighting Maintenance accounting unit, the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner as specified in the attached financial analysis.
