Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota for the 2009 Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) Grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has received a grant of $1,484,658.00 from the State of Minnesota for the 2009 Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) Grant to purchase interoperable communications equipment, hazardous materials and bomb squad equipment, fund a planner position, and make emergency operation center improvements, and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is offering to extend the 2009 UASI Grant to give the City of Saint Paul more time to complete the various purchases and close out the various projects relating to this grant, and
WHEREAS, the original contract was approved on Council Resolution 10-76, and
WHEREAS, the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety as provided by the Department of Emergency Management; a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
