Authorizing the City on behalf of the Police Department (SPPD) to accept and amend the 2025 Special Fund Budget for four donations from the Saint Paul Police Foundation (SPPF).

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Foundation (SPPF) is making four donations totaling $43,100 to the City of Saint Paul Police Department; and

 

WHEREAS, the first donation is $7,500 for media resources for the SPPD’s Public Information Team; and

 

WHEREAS, the second donation is $9,000 for supplies for the SPPD’s Bike Truck to conduct community engagement activities; and

 

WHEREAS, the third donation is $6,600 for promotional items for recruiting new officers; and

 

WHEREAS, the fourth donation is $20,000, made possible by funds the SPPF secured from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation for the SPPD’s programs working with youth (Explorers, Rec Check, Junior Police Academy); and

 

WHEREAS, there are no matching funds or subgrantees associated with these donations; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2025 financing and spending plans need to be amended and activity budget added for these funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $43,100 in the Special Fund; now

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $43,100 is available for appropriation in the Police Department Special Fund, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
