Accepting the gift of travel, lodging and conference registration expenses from Women’s fund of Greater Milwaukee for Councilmembers Bowie, Johnson and Kim to attend the 2024 Imagine the Possibilities conference.

WHEREAS, The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee is a community foundation working to grow their endowment to ensure resources are always available to support initiatives that strategically advance equity for women and girls.
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is committed to supporting the professional development and public engagement of its elected officials; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul City Council Members Bowie, Johnson and Kim have been invited to participate in the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee’s “Imagine the Possibilities” with Saint Paul City Council on Thursday, September 26-27th 2024, in Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that celebrates the historic milestone of an all-female Saint Paul City Council; and
WHEREAS, this event provides a unique opportunity for the Council Members to engage with their counterparts from the Milwaukee City Council, discuss campaign financing, co-campaigning strategies, and city governance, and explore how a gender lens can be applied to address the needs of constituents and the city; and
WHEREAS, the event includes a speaking engagement for the Saint Paul City Council Members, allowing them to share insights from their experience in governance; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul recognizes the importance of such opportunities for professional development, networking, and public speaking, which directly benefit the Council Members and the community they serve; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council accepts the gift of travel, lodging and conference registration expenses up to $1500.00 each to participate in the Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee’s “Imagine the Possibilities” with Saint Paul City Council event in Milwaukee on September 26-27th, 2024. and
