Authorizing the City to purchase a used fire truck from the City of Vadnais Heights.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul (the “City”) Fire Department wishes to purchase a 1999 Pierce Dash 105 HD ladder truck (the “Fire Truck”) from the City of Vadnais Heights (“Vadnais Heights”) for $120,000; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 471.64, the City may enter into any contract with any other political subdivision of the state for the purchase of equipment without regard to statutory or charter provisions; and
WHEREAS, the City and Vadnais Heights have negotiated a purchase agreement for the Fire Truck (the “Purchase Agreement”), a form of which is attached to this resolution; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the Fire Truck will help the Fire Department provide critical public services and safety services to the City; and now,
THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the purchase of the Fire Truck and the execution of the Purchase Agreement by the appropriate City officials.
