Authorizing the Police Department to accept the donation from the Ramsey County Chiefs of Police Association which is designated for officer travel costs when representing the Police Department at the National Police Week in Washington D.C.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has received a generous donation from the Ramsey County Chiefs of Police Association in the amount of $2,000; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County Chiefs of Police has specifically designated these funds to support travel costs associated with Saint Paul Police Officers who will be attending the National Police Week in Washington D.C; and
WHEREAS, the officers will be representing the Saint Paul Police Department as they honor retired Saint Paul Police Officer Felicia Reilly who will be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. on May 13, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the 2026 financing and spending plans need to be amended in the Police Special fund for the donation and cost; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $2,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 Police Special Fund budget; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor to accept the generous donation from the Ramsey County Chiefs of Police Association, and approves these changes to the 2026 budget as amended on the attached financial analysis.
