Authorizing the City Council to spend up to $450 for the purchase of food for a staff appreciation event in January 2026.

WHEREAS the staff appreciation event will be held in January 2026, at City Hall; and
WHEREAS the purpose of the meeting is to thank staff for their hard work to serve residents and to facilitate idea-sharing on how to best serve residents; and
WHEREAS the expenditure of money for food and beverages serves a public purpose, as formally recognizing employees who make significant contributions and demonstrate commitment in the performance of their duties enhances morale and productivity among all employees, thereby enabling the City to fulfill its responsibilities to the community more efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, appropriate safety, health, and wellness programs for City employees serve a public purpose by promoting a healthier and more productive workforce while reducing certain costs to the City and its taxpayers; and therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council is authorized to spend up to a total $450 for the purchase of food and beverages a staff appreciation event in January 2026.
