Title
Amending the spending and financing plans for the Parks and Recreation, City Attorney's Office, and General Government departments.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2018 City general fund budget includes funding for the citywide costs associated with Earned Sick and Safe Time in the general government accounts; and
WHEREAS, the Parks department has identified costs within their department related to Earned Sick and Safe Time as outlined in the attached; and
WHEREAS, in RES 18-1365, the Mayor and Council of the City of Saint Paul resolved to direct $100,000 for the establishment of an Immigrant Legal Defense fund; and
WHEREAS, due to above budget settlement costs, there is a need to adjust the tort liability budget in the citywide General Government Accounts budgets in the amount of $365,000; and
WHEREAS, general revenues in the areas of franchise fees, and property taxes, are expected to exceed the amounts budgeted for 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.4 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does certify that there are available for transfer of appropriation funds of $21,439 for earned sick and safe time; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $465,000; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $21,439 is available for transfer of appropriations, and $465,000 is available for appropriation in the city operating budget, and that the city operating budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, be hereby further amended in the particulars as specified in the attached financial analysis.
