Authorizing the Ward 7 office to spend up to $500 to supply food and beverage for those attending the Indian Mounds Regional Park Community Listening Session.

WHEREAS, the Indian Mounds Regional Park Community Listening Session is an opportunity for community members to share their concerns and learn more about the project; and
WHEREAS, the meeting will be held on July 22 from 5 to 7:30 pm, during typical dinner hours; and
WHEREAS, the meeting was scheduled outside of typical working hours to accommodate community members to attend and as early in the evening as possible to allow tribal officials who must travel from a significant distance; and
WHEREAS, the Council would like to allow both groups to attend and ensure the meeting is long enough to include meaningful dialogue; and
WHEREAS, the Council would like to ensure the highest participation possible of community members and tribal officials; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council finds that there is a public purpose for the expenditure of money for food and beverages for attendees of the Indian Mounds Regional Park Community Listening Session for the above-stated reasons, and authorizes the Ward 7 office to spend up to $500 from their office budget for the purchase of food and refreshments for community members attending the meeting.
