Body

WHEREAS, the City, approved RES 25-938 for the Department of Public Works to seek the grant with Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District, and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District have a mutual interest in the management of the water resources within the City of Saint Paul, and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works conducts a street sweeping program in support of its Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit, and

WHEREAS, based on the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District’s Enhanced Street Sweeping Report, an enhanced street sweeping program is identified as a cost-effective Best Management Practice (BMP) to reduce nutrient loading to local waterbodies and reduce maintenance needs of other BMPs, and

WHEREAS, the grant amount is up to $100,000 on a reimbursable basis for actual work performed with a grant term ending December 31st, 2025, and

WHEREAS, the City certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in the grant agreement, and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the Department of Public Works to execute the grant agreement to implement the enhanced street sweeping program, and

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, funds of $100,000 in the Public Works General Fund; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor that $100,000 is available for appropriation in the Public Works General Fund, as heretofore adopted ...
