Title

Authorizing the City, on behalf of the Public Works Department, to accept a donation of one (1) enclosure for an organics collection station, with a value of $20,000, from FCC Environmental Services to support public organics operations.

Body

WHEREAS, the Department, through providing the enclosure, will provide residents with an opportunity to reduce waste and recycle organics; and

WHEREAS, FCC Environmental Services wishes to donate the enclosure and provide collection, with a value of $20,000 plus labor costs, which will be installed within the West 7th Community Center; and

WHEREAS, said collection station will be used to provide an additional disposal option for Saint Paul residents; and

WHEREAS, the City, on behalf of the Department, wishes to accept said donated organics enclosure to increase opportunities for organics recycling; and

WHEREAS, FCC will install and collect from the collection station; and

WHEREAS, Public Works will maintain and pay for disposal from the site; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this donation has a public purpose; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the Department to accept the organics enclosure, with a value of $20,000, from FCC Environmental to support Public Works public organics recycling, and thanks them for their generous donation.
