Amending the budget of the Department of Safety and Inspections Construction Services and Permits by $62,417 to hire additional inspections staff.
Body
WHEREAS, the Construction Services and Permits unit experienced an increase in building permit and plan review activity in 2013; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Safety and Inspections is required to maintain staffing levels to meet the demand for building inspections and plan reviews as required by the State Delegation Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Safety and Inspections has recognized the need to hire a Senior Building Inspector, a Plan Examiner II, an Electrical Inspector , a Plumbing Inspector, a Building Inspector and a temporary Electrical Inspector in 2013; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the City Charter certify that there funds available for appropriation totaling $62,417 in excess of the revenue estimated in the 2013 budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following additions be made to the 2013 budget;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul approves these amendments to budget as indicated in the attached Financial Analysis report;
