Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to apply for $500,000 from the State Park Road Account Grant Program for the Crosby Farm Road Reconstruction project.

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is soliciting applications for the State Park Road Account grant program; and
WHEREAS, the Crosby Farm Road Reconstruction project is eligible to receive funding from said grant program; and
WHEREAS, said project will reconstruct the road connecting Shepard Road to the Watergate Marina area, providing access to the Mississippi River and Upper Lake; and
WHEREAS, said project has advanced design and will be shovel-ready when funds would become available; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to apply for $500,000 in grant funds to implement said project, with any matching funds coming from the City of Saint Paul’s allocation from the Parks and Trails Legacy Fund; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council expressly provides its support for the Department of Parks and Recreation to submit a grant application to the State Park Road grant program to implement the Crosby Farm Road Reconstruction project.
