Approving the expenditure of $150 for two tickets for Parks and Recreation staff to attend the 2013 Great Places Initiative Awards Ceremony.

WHEREAS, the Design and Construction Division of the Department of Parks and Recreation submitted three applications for awards to the 2013 Great Places Initiative (Rice Park, Two Rivers Overlook, and Raspberry Island); and
WHEREAS, the awards ceremony is being held at Aria, on December 4, 2013, and tickets are $75.00 per person; and
WHEREAS, representation from the Department will serve a public purpose by raising awarenss of the unique and award winning design work that helps make Saint Paul the Most Livable City in America; and
WHEREAS this will also be an opportunity to bring attention to the excellent design work being done by the Department of Parks and Recreation Design staff; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to purchase two tickets for the awards ceremony; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council approves the expenditure of $150.00 for two tickets to the 2013 Great Places Initiative Awards Ceremony.
