Amending the financing and spending plans for the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Department related to certain grant funds.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul’s (“City”) Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity department (“HREEO”) has received certain grant funds (the “Grant Funds”) from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) to be issued to community organizations (the “Partner Organizations”); and
WHEREAS, the Partner Organizations shall use the Grant Funds for outreach activities to renters in the City about their fair housing rights and the fair housing resources available to them at the City (the “Services”); and
WHEREAS, HREEO has chosen the Greater East Side Community Council, District 2 and the Minnesota Disability Law Center within the Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid as the Partner Organizations to provide the Services and has entered into Professional Services Agreements (the “Contracts” or, each a “Contract”) with each of the Partner Organizations; and
WHEREAS, each Contract allocates $20,000 in Grant Funds to the respective Partner Organization, for a total of $40,000 in Grant Funds, and HREEO has already disbursed $10,000 in Grant Funds to the Greater East Side Community Council in 2024; and
WHEREAS, HREEO has available unspent Grant Funds which were not included in the 2025 Adopted Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation total revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget, Grant Funds of $30,000 in the HREEO HUD special fund; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, amends the 2025 Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity budget as detailed in the attached financial analysis.
