Title

Amending the 2021 General Fund budget for the Office of Technology and Communications.

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Technology and Communications has incurred greater professional service costs than the adopted budget; and

WHEREAS, there are sufficient savings in employee expenses due to unfilled vacancies; therefore via,

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER, consistent with the authority granted to the Mayor in Section 10.07.4 of the City Charter, and on the request of the Director of the Office of Technology and Communications to amend the 2021 spending budget for the reallocation of funds within existing budgets. This is a reallocation of budgeted spending to more accurately reflect anticipated expenses and provide appropriate levels of spending authority within accounting unit budgets. Specifically, savings from employee vacancies are being reallocated to fund 1) staff augmentation to backfill for a team lead on long-term medical leave, 2) IT security consultation, 3) ongoing back-end upgrades and content improvements to StPaul.gov, and 4) implementation of an IT service catalog. The Director of the Office of Financial Services is authorized to amend said budget in the manner specified in the attached financial analysis form.
