Accepting a gift from District Energy for the Energize Saint Paul Recognition Ceremony.

WHEREAS, on November 29, 2018, Saint Paul Chief Resilience Officer Russ Stark will host an “Energize Saint Paul Recognition Ceremony” at 12welve Eyes Brewing; and
WHEREAS, the Energize Saint Paul Recognition event is an opportunity for Chief Resilience Officer Stark and Mayor Carter to recognize building owners and operators that have committed to work with the City of Saint Paul and its partners on energy efficiency; and
WHEREAS, District Energy has offered to provide food to attendees of the event, such donation having an approximate value of $750.00; and
WHEREAS, the City wants to encourage building owners, operators, and other staff to engage with City personnel toward the goal of increasing energy efficiency and believes that providing food will help encourage attendance and participation in Energize Saint Paul recognition event thereby serving a public purpose; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby
1. Accepts the donation of food worth approximately $750.00;
2. Appropriates the gift for the use by Chief Resilience Officer Stark at the Energize Saint Paul Recognition Ceremony;
3. Finds that the use of the gift by Chief Resilience Officer Stark serves the public purpose of encouraging energy efficiency in buildings in the City of Saint Paul; and
4. Thanks District Energy for the generous gift.
