WHEREAS, Library Journal’s Public Library Safety Summit is being held in Cleveland, Ohio from Thursday July 16 to Friday July 17; and
WHEREAS, the Library wishes to accept airfare and hotel accommodations paid for by Library Journal to support Deputy Director Rebecca Ryan to attend the conference and present about Saint Paul Public Library’s approach; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Library is the recipient of an Honorable Mention by the Urban Libraries Council in 2025 for SPPL’s Community-first public safety improvements; and
WHEREAS, attendance at the conference will further the Library’s strategic direction goals of supporting providing welcoming, safe, community-centered services and spaces where everyone belongs; and
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the gift of travel and lodging for Rebecca Ryan to attend the conference and thanks Library Journal for its gift and recognition of SPPL’s work.
