Authorizing the acceptance of $25,000.00 in total grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to enhance fire suppression and rescue diving capabilities; authorizing the execution of a grant agreement.
Body
WHEREAS, the City will use the funds to directly support maritime transportation infrastructure security activities in alignment with FEMA’s goal to promote sustainable, risk-based efforts to protect critical port infrastructure from acts of terrorism; and
WHEREAS, the City applied for and received a grant in the amount of $25,000.00 for motor replacement for the Marine 2 vessel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved the submission of the grant application in RES 25-769; and
WHEREAS, this investment will provide for the sustainment of the task force river rescue boat Marine 2; and
WHEREAS, by this Resolution, the Council authorizes the acceptance of the 2025 Port Security Grant, and authorizes execution of a grant agreement with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorize the Emergency Management Department to accept a grant and execute a grant agreement for $25,000.00 for the Port Security Grant Program.
