Title

Authorizing the execution of a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and the City of Falcon Heights for cost sharing improvements associated with the 2026 Chelsea Heights Safe Routes to School Project.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is undertaking the 2026 Chelsea Heights Safe Routes to School Project, which includes pedestrian and associated improvements at the intersection of Hamline Avenue and Hoyt Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, a portion of the project area, specifically the northwest quadrant of Hamline Avenue and Hoyt Avenue, is located within the City of Falcon Heights; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 471.59, the City of Saint Paul and the City of Falcon Heights are authorized to enter into agreements to jointly exercise governmental powers and functions; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and the City of Falcon Heights have agreed to share the costs associated with improvements in this area, as outlined in this agreement; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the appropriate City officials to execute the Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Falcon Heights for the cost sharing of improvements associated with the 2026 Chelsea Heights Safe Routes to School Project; and be it finally


RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City Officials are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
