Authorizing the renaming of Western Park to Western Sculpture Park.

WHEREAS, Western Park, located at 387 Marion Street and since 1998 has been the site of a series of sculptures and art programming sponsored by Public Art Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, Public Art Saint Paul has proposed and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation and the neighboring communities support that the name should be changed to Western Sculpture Park; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks Commission has recommended approval of the recommended name change; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the renaming of Western Park to Western Sculpture Park.
