Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept grant funding in the amount of $146,301.16 from the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources and to establish a budget in the Grant Fund to reflect said funds to support tree planting at the Como Zoo.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has been awarded with the Como Zoo Tree Planting grant in the amount of $146,301.16 from the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept these funds to support the tree planting program at the Como Zoo; and
WHEREAS, there are no match requirements for this grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to accept said grant funds and amend the financing and spending plan in the 2026 Grant Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $146,301.16 in excess of those estimated in the 2026 Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, that $146,301.16 is available for appropriation in the 2026 budget, and said 2026 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is hereby further amended as indicated on the attached financial analysis; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Council accepts the grant funding and authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Natural Resources for the aforementioned funding.
