7/20/2026 2:12 PMAdam Beers Against As a formally unhoused person and someone who has worked in the field of providing support to folks living on the streets for nearly a decade, I know first-hand that this inhumane treatment of our neighbors is NOT a way to solve the problem. If you evict hundreds of people from their communities without proper supports and housing, these folks will be forced to move into unsafe and more urban areas to protect themselves and their belongings. This will not only exacerbate their risk of harm - it will ultimately put their lives in jeopardy and ultimately lead to an increase in deaths. If they cities plan involves housing, why wouldn’t the issue of attainable and affordable housing be fixed before uprooting these folks entire lives? +1 1
7/19/2026 7:49 PMEmilie H Against My concern for this proposal is that 1) organizations were not notified 2) the timeline does not allow enough time to get resources to neighbors in a supportive and dignified way 3) there is no clear plan of where individuals are supposed to go. If these neighbors are scattered, how are they supposed to receive resources, support of community, and safety? I urge Mayor Her and council members to stop the sweeps to allow further thought and time in removing and destroying these people's lives +2
7/17/2026 3:18 PMJustin Lewandowski Against Mayor Her and Council Members, My name is Justin Lewandowski. I support ending unsheltered homelessness—but this plan won't accomplish that. Clearing sanctioned encampments without sufficient housing or shelter will not end homelessness; it will displace it. I urge the Mayor to pause large-scale encampment closures and bring residents, outreach workers, healthcare systems, housing providers, faith communities, and neighborhood partners together to develop a coordinated implementation plan. National public health research shows repeated displacement disrupts healthcare, housing navigation, and trusted relationships while increasing overdose, illness, and public costs. Saint Paul already has the partnerships and expertise to do better. Stabilize existing sites while expanding housing. Coordinate our resources instead of restarting outreach every time people are forced to move. Don't displace our neighbors. Invest in them. +7 -1
