Approving the 2010-2011 Emergency Shelter Grant Fund recipients.

WHEREAS, on January 12, 1988, the Council of the City of Saint Paul approved the procedures to allocate the Emergency Shelter Grant (“ESG”) funds given to the City by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”); and

WHEREAS, on September 1, 2010, the City of Saint Paul issued a Requests for Proposals for the ESG Year 2010-2011 which invited eligible nonprofit organizations to submit proposals to use ESG funds to serve Saint Paul homeless residents; and

WHEREAS, the 2010-2011 budget for ESG funds is $350,982.00; and

WHERAS, in accordance with the approved procedures, the Emergency Shelter Grant Review Committee reviewed the ESG grant requests and recommended the following organizations for funding:
1. Ain Dah Yung $8,000
2. Breaking Free $5,000
3. Catholic Charities Extended Hour Program $63,500
4. Catholic Charities Family Service Center $25,000
5. East Side Family Center $5,000
6. Emma Norton Residence $11,000
7. Ethel Gordon Community Care Center $5,000
8. Face to Face SafeZone Resource Center for Youth $5,000
9. The Family Place $24,000
10. Listening House $21,000
11. Lutheran Social Services - Safe House for Teens $21,000
12. Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans $3,500
13. Saint Paul Council of Churches - Project Home $46,000
14. Saint Paul Foundation - Community Sharing Fund $17,433
16. Southern MN Regional Legal Services-Project Hope $24,000
17. Theresa Living Center $8,000
18. Twin Cities Community Voice Mail $7,000
19. West Side Community Health Services-House Calls $19,000
20. YWCA Saint Paul Transitional Housing Program $15,000
