Authorizing the Police Department to accept a grant from the Saint Paul Foundation in the amount of $20,000 for the city staff implicit bias training.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department has been awarded the Train the Trainers for Police and City Staff Implicit Bias from The Saint Paul Foundation and their Facing Race Initiative; and
WHEREAS, this grant provides funding for city staff implicit bias training including, Implicit Bias, Race the Power of Illusion, Leading Through Change and Recognizing Bias in Policy and Practice; and
WHEREAS, the funding is for $20,000 with a term from October 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant, and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas E. Smith to implement the attached agreement with The Saint Paul Foundation.
