Pertaining to authorizing professional services contract Amendment No. 1 with KLJ Engineering to provide engineering services.
Body
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning major improvements to Robert Street between Annapolis Street and Kellogg Boulevard, including roadway reconstruction, sidewalk replacements, and safety enhancements; and
WHEREAS, much of the water distribution infrastructure in the project area dates back to the 1880s and contains a significant number of lead service lines that need replacement; and
WHEREAS, coordinating water infrastructure upgrades with the roadway reconstruction will be cost-effective and reduce construction impacts on residents; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 25-298 authorized KLJ Engineering to provide professional engineering services for the Highway 3/Robert Street project to SPRWS at a cost not to exceed $101,568.76; and
WHEREAS, KLJ Engineering proposes to provide additional professional engineering services through Amendment No. 1 to the original contract for the Highway 3/Robert Street project to SPRWS at a cost not to exceed $73,370; bringing the total contract amount to $174,938.76; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes professional services contract Amendment No. 1 with KLJ Engineering to provide professional engineering services for the Highway 3/Robert Street project and hereby authorizes its General Manager of Saint Paul Regional Water Services to execute any and all forms as may be required for such agreements.
