Authorizing the Police Department to amend the 2025 Police Department grant fund for the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department has entered into the Joint Powers Agreement of the Ramsey County Violent Crime Enforcement Team (02-17064-I) as accepted in RES PH 22-111; and
WHEREAS, this multi-year agreement allows for the Saint Paul Police Department’s (SPPD) participation and reimbursement of allowed expenses; and
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety has awarded Ramsey Count a grant to fund this program and Ramsey County has allocated $130,000 for each of the years 2024 and 2025; and
WHEREAS, Ramsey County has approved that SPPD be allowed to expend the unspent 2024 budget of $42,782 in 2025; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 financing and spending plans need to be amended and activity budget realigned to more accurately reflect the grant budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $42,782 in excess of those estimated in the 2025 budget; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor to approve these changes to the 2025 budget as amended on the attached financial analysis.
