Authorizing the Fire Department to pay for all costs incurred to hold an Open House at Fire Station 19 on October 7, 2017.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department is holding an Open House at Fire Station 19 to formally dedicate the newly expanded bay on October 7, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Open House will give the public the opportunity to see newly renovated Fire Station 19; and
WHEREAS, there will be fire prevention and injury prevention activities including the kitchen fire safety demonstration trailer and extrication demonstrations in honor of Fire Prevention Week "Every Second Counts, Plan Two Ways Out" and light refreshments will be served; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure of money for the light refreshments serves a public purpose by inviting the neighborhood to see the renovations and to learn fire and injury prevention information; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds not to exceed $500 for the Open House at Fire Station 19.
