Authorizing the City of Saint Paul to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota for the 2008 Homeland Security Grant for training and equipment for the Hazardous Materials Response Team.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul received a grant of $70,000.00 from the State of Minnesota for the 2008 Homeland Security Grant for to provide training and purchase equipment for the Hazardous Materials Response Team, and

WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota is offering to extend the 2008 Homeland Security Grant so that vital equipment and training can be received by the Fire Department's Hazardous Materials Response Team, and

WHEREAS, the original contract was approved on Council Resolution 09-1097, and

RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant contract amendment for a timeline extension with the State of Minnesota, Department of Public Safety as provided by the Department of Emergency Management; a copy of said agreement is to be kept on file and of record in the Office of Financial Services.
