Authorizing Parks and Recreation to increase its Special Services Budget in the amount of $155,000 to reflect the compensation received from the Metropolitan Council for temporary construction easements, allowing for the undertaking of a sewer rehabilitation project at Phalen Park.
Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation was previously granted permission to accept (Res 16-1807) compensation from the Metropolitan Council for temporary construction easements for a sewer rehabilitation project at Phalen Golf Course, Phalen Recreation Center and Phalen Park; and
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Council is acquiring the temporary easements to allow access to the pipe and use of the surface for vehicles and equipment during the project;
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul and Metropolitan Council have reached an agreement that the value of the temporary construction easements is $155,000; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to increase financing and spending in the Special Services Budget, providing additional budget to enable for improvements at Phalen Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to increase the financing and spending budgets in the 2016 Special Services Budget by $155,000; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.01 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $155,000 in excess of those estimated in the current Special Services Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes acceptance of the funds and approves these amendments for the Special Services Budget.
